I offer personalised mind-body coaching to help understand and address the root cause of the symptoms.

My holistic approach is based on modern neuroscience findings about neuroplastic pain and symptoms, and is also backed by my own personal experience of chronic pain over the past fifteen years.

You will start to understand your own life from a nervous system and physiological perspective. Without this education, it can be difficult to see what needs changing and this is the reason a lot of sufferers remain stuck.

Having the right kind of support during the healing journey is also essential.

The way this method works differs greatly from traditional or other holistic treatments as it requires people to take an active role in their recovery. It gives them back the power to treat the cause of chronic pain rather than the symptoms in isolation.

This means they will stop relying on external factors (like certain diets, certain medicines, certain stretches, etc) to find relief. Of course, we can all (whether in pain or not!) only but benefit from eating a healthy diet and including some form of exercise in our life! But unless we do the introspection process ourselves, and we learn why and how our chronic symptoms keep being generated, we won’t be able to identify our pain triggers and then teach ourselves how to break the cycle.

Remember this is not about pain relief, it’s about long-term recovery. You CAN overcome chronic pain even if you have suffered for months or years!

Please note that this approach does not deal with the medical aspects of pain like medication, physical therapy or treatments, and it does not apply to conditions that are not neuroplastic. It can help you if you’ve been trying to heal from pain without success, and serious medical conditions, such as infection, fracture, an immune disorder, cancer or any other organ disease, have been excluded.

Chronic pain and persistent symptoms can breed a lot of loneliness and confusion and having someone who is able to hold your hand and lead you through this journey can be invaluable.

I would recommend weekly sessions to keep up the momentum to start with, but there is no need to commit in advance. People progress in different and unpredictable ways.

Before you start:

Some people tend to hold mind and body well apart. It will be very hard to heal if you don’t truly believe that there are very strong connections between your physical and emotional functioning.

Lack of support from your family, friends, or doctor, can also be a hinder… It can be hard if they scoff at what you are doing… and (unwillingly) act as a nocebo effect.

People’s narrow views about your ‘illness’ shouldn’t stop you having a wider view though!

Lack of motivation and/or energy can make it difficult for you to take charge of your own health. It is quite new for some that this is even a possibility and when in pain, it can be a challenge to gather the energy needed… Hence the importance of support.

Intense feelings and emotions can be stored underneath your physical symptoms. Being prepared to face them can be challenging at times too.

I am trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy by the PRT Centre and have had great success applying its principles in my coaching sessions.

PRT, Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based approach currently considered the most effective treatment for chronic pain and symptoms. Relying on the latest neuroscience and using techniques to retrain the brain to interpret and respond to signals from the body differently, the aim is to eventually break the cycle of chronic symptoms.  Often this is all that is needed to create lasting change and healing.

Sometimes we need to dive a little deeper and explore your past and current life stressors, emotional habits and behaviours, in order to get to the root of the problem.

I aim to create a relaxed, caring and empathetic environment, which allows people to feel safe and comfortable when exploring the various factors associated with their pain. Everything shared during sessions and communication between sessions is 100% confidential.

I offer on-line or in-person 1:1 sessions (1.5 hours) £75

First assessment session (2 hours)  £85

I also offer unlimited (within reason) free email access between sessions.

I can give people free access to the Curable App for 6 weeks.

Curable is a recovery App, focused on teaching you about pain/brain science and giving you tools and exercises to work through healing neuroplastic symptoms.

These are real stories from people who have transformed their lives through Catherine’s coaching. Each journey is unique, but the results show what’s possible when you commit to understanding your body, mind, and recovery. Due to the very private nature of coaching, those authentic testimonials have been kept anonymous.

“Catherine has been invaluable in helping to guide me through my TMS journey. She possesses a rare combination of humor, insight, and personal experience that she brings to each session and has helped me to feel both at ease and informed; I can't thank her enough for all of her help!”

“I am so indebted to Catherine and would recommend her to anyone who is fed up with being crippled by chronic pain and wants to heal from within. Catherine helps you to become your own healer. It wasn’t a quick fix for me, you need to be dedicated to truly understanding how pain works and why it is there, but once you’ve understood it, there is no going back! Catherine is absolutely brilliant at what she does and the nicest person to accompany you on this journey to freedom from pain.”

“I have continued with the MBS practices and have seen a lot of improvement. I still have fatigue issues and need to practise some defensive behaviours still but overall I am in much better health than I was for the past four years, and just after a few sessions.”

“I went for a run and had no pain after!!  Also been doing a lot of Pilates again. I really was so glad to meet you and I feel very grateful for everything you have given me that’s helped me on this healing journey!”

“Catherine brought a perspective to me that has opened the door to a whole new way of thinking and feeling. I feel better both physically and emotionally since starting my work with her. I suffered from chronic pain for almost a decade. Catherine was extremely friendly and relaxed, and she listened a LOT. She never made me feel rushed or emotionally led and our sessions have been consistently fruitful. My symptoms have eased substantially and unexpectedly, I feel much less tension throughout the rest of my body too.”

“Catherine made me feel very comfortable, listened to and valued. She has a friendly cheerful personality that put me at ease. I am dealing with my anxiety so much better now she has given me a completely different perspective on it.”

“Catherine made me feel very comfortable discussing some private aspects of my life. She is a very warm and relaxed person and opened my eyes and mind to how much stress I put myself under. The sessions were conducted with compassion, humility and humour. This made it very easy to take on and be open to this concept of treatment and I have benefitted with almost no more back pain and no more medication after two decades.”

"The moment I first met Catherine she put me at ease straight away. I'd been suffering with chronic tooth pain after an extraction 6 years previously, and the pain was constant and the regret crippling. But Catherine gave me hope and a light and the end of the tunnel. And the light came so quickly as the techniques Catherine taught me began to work straight away! I now have so much mental freedom and feel like I have got my life back. I am thankful everyday for this. I highly recommend speaking to Catherine if you have any kind of chronic pain. It doesn't have to ruin your life. Also Catherine is better than a 'normal' therapist. She made me feel so at ease and really understood what I was going through, as she had experienced chronic pain too. And she always replies to emails and texts with helpful insights. Thank you, Catherine. xx"

“I’ve managed to shift the anxiety/knot that was in my chest that’s been present for nearly two years, so I’m very happy. My energy levels are also improving slowly and I’ve been able to do more without any crashes!”
