Welcome ! I'm Catherine.
A bit about me...

How did I get here helping people who are so tired of living with chronic pain or persistent symptoms and who have not yet found a real solution?

To be honest, it’s a long story which started about sixteen years ago when I found myself crippled with pain, tiredness (pain is tiring!), insomnia (pain stops you sleeping!), worry (you wonder what could be wrong with you!), and fear (you worry about how you will live your life like this!)

… Not a rosy picture…

For about two years I saw numerous doctors, had multiple blood tests and scans…
with no conclusions…

Even osteopaths and homeopaths who have always played a big part in our family health (and they still do) were unable to help me with this. There was simply nothing wrong with me and yet nobody knew why I was in so much pain…

This only kept on getting worse…

Until one day, the doctor put a label on ‘it’, called it ‘fibromyalgia’ and sent me home with a prescription for anti-depressants and a ‘life sentence’ that unfortunately this condition doesn’t improve with time, and that people have to adjust their lives to learn to ‘live WITH the pain!... At least I was told it wouldn't kill me!

I was also living with my two very young and lively lovely children at the time, a husband who had recently started his own practice, we’d just moved into a new place which needed a lot of work doing, and I was planning on getting back into teaching as soon as my daughter would start school…

And now I was told I had to fit the pain into this life too?!

There were tears, a lot of them, and then there was anger, which is what led me to relentlessly search for a solution myself.
In 2006, not much was to be found on the internet if you googled ‘fibromyalgia’, but I finally discovered Dr Sarno’s work and the connection between the Mind, the Body and the Soul… It was the beginning of a self-discovering and self-healing journey.

I am happy to say that thankfully, I never ended up having to learn how to live with the pain as I learnt how to eliminate it instead, and I have been pain-free for over a decade. Thankfully, when symptoms appear (they always will poke their head as I am human!) I now know how to deal with them.

I decided to put my teaching career on hold to join this growing community of coaches and therapists who are dedicated to helping people lost in the medical world’s blind spot. As well as being a secondary school teacher, I am now a certified Life Coach and Body-mind Practitioner, and I am also a SIRPA trained chronic pain coach. I am so excited to be able to share with you my knowledge and experience so that YOU can heal too.

A bit about you…

The beginning of my story might sound familiar to you, and you might be feeling misunderstood by the medical professionals. Maybe you are suffering from being
over-prescribed with medication which doesn't really help long-term.

I hope you find here what you need in order to discover the healing capacities that your body and mind hold.

If you are really motivated to get better but just don’t know what to do and where to start, I will help you and guide you through your self-healing journey. This approach has been effective for the many people I have been privileged to help over the years and I am also the living proof that it works! You can take a look at the unending list of recovery stories both in books suggested on this website and here.

This is NOT for you if:
• You are in search of a ‘magic pill’ that will solve all your symptoms without your input.

• You choose to focus exclusively on the physical aspects of your recovery and discard mental and emotional factors.

• You are not ready to let go of the ‘victim mentality’.

• You are not prepared to be involved in your own recovery and invest some time and energy towards this work.

This IS for you if:
• You want to be pain-free or symptom-free once and for all and enjoy your life to the fullest with your loved ones.

• You are committed to your healing and are prepared to take immediate steps necessary to recover.

• You are open to a holistic approach which will allow you to heal on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.

• You understand that complete healing takes courage.

• You aspire to be empowered to be able to achieve a complete recovery and maintain your state of well-being.

I hear some of you…

“This sounds too good to be true…”

“If it were possible, everyone, including the specialists I have seen would know about it…”

“This must be yet another website claiming a few meditations, yoga and lots of positive thinking will do the job…”
Rest assured, this is NOT what it’s about….

First of all, in my experience at least, just because something sounds good, doesn’t mean it can’t be true!

Secondly, the fact your doctor never mentioned the possibility of NPD is probably just because they didn’t know about it. This is a relatively new way of dealing with chronic pain. I know that some GPs have become aware of the huge impact this could have on the care of the growing cases of medically unexplained syndromes, and they are choosing to actively share this approach with colleagues.

And finally, there is nothing magic or "woo-woo" about this healing approach…
But there is something very real and powerful called neuroplasticity…
… and mother nature has kindly gifted each and every human brain with it!

Here is a two-minutes long video summarising this concept:

If you think this could be for you, let’s have a chat.
